Covid, which was launched globally in 2016, is designed to help provide feedback on the country’s “survey environment” during monitoring. Until now, it has been used only for fire air pollutants.
But the group said that Covid will now be available “to under 50s in urban areas.”
“This is a continuation of the move toward the use of innovative tools to offer early warnings of pollution in various locations across the country,” James Clappison, CEO of ASEAN Forecasting said in a statement.
2,500km below the South China Sea, the Airpocalypse was described as one of the worst air pollution plagues seen in decades. CNN’s Barbara Starr reports on the effects it has on the region’s inhabitants.
The group said the selection of age group “cannot be taken as at random” and made through consultations with the Public Health Authority.
According to the Malaysian Department of Environment, any response to the new term will “depends on the objectivity of the data” used and the users’ understanding of parameters on forecasting.
