I just received the most extraordinary e-main from one James Sundquist:
=== begin quote ===
I give you my highest commendation to Deborah of Discerning the World and
Steven Hayes for exposing Peter Veysie, Senior Pastor of Ridgeway
Ministries. I am grateful that you were able to warn as many saints as
possible on your Discerning the World site. I will try to help expand
your warning about Mr. Veysie and other Emergent Church plague pied pipers
in our own media database and various radio ministries we frequent. We
will sound the alarm on His Holy Hill reflecting the following letter to
Peter Veysie.
=== end quote ===
Now I only know Peter Veysie from his occasional posts and comments here, and I certainly don't know enough about him or his views to "expose" him. I also haven't looked at the "Discerning the world" site since the gratuitously attacked Nic Paton about 18 months ago, without actually disclosing the nature of his alleged offence.
So I would like to assure Peter Veysie that I have not "exposed" him in "Discerning" the world or anywhere else. Most of the posts there seem to manifest the works of the flesh rather than the fruit of the spirit, wranhling, Jealousy, backbiting and the like, and never having found anything edifying there, I don't read it.

Thanks for communicating
Thanks Steve for clairifying. I have not looked deeper into the affair than this one email, and do not really intend to get too invoved, (other than via my dark tabloid self).
However, let me say to whoever is concerned that Peter Veysie is a friend and co-journeyer of mine. I find him engaging, open, brave, honest and true to what I see as the meaning of Jesus's message.
This need to villify, project, and divide reflects a deep wounding and and/or an arrested stage of spiritual development someplace around the "terrible twos".
Heh Nic - this stuff can do interesting things to our spirits !!
Heh Nic - seem to be in the firing line along with so many others. Joy in the journey brother. We are not alone.
Heh its me Peter Veysie
If you want to know more about me - I am a Christ follower and have been since I was 10 years old. My father is a Methodist minister and is my mentor along with Leonard Sweet, Chris Peppler and Michael Cassidy. I am married for 23 years and have three wonderful boys - Matthew(19) Luke (12) and Joel (9). I love serving in the church and love serving Jesus. I have been in ministry for thirty years and think of myself as quite conservative actually in a theological context, however I see how damaged the church is, especially when those who are supposedly brothers and sisters will stain your name. I love people and hope that my care for them reflects Jesus. The Lord is the star of my life and no-one else. I serve a great and awesome God who I do not need to defend, nor do I need to defend myself.
Hi Peter, I've seen you post
Hi Peter,
I've seen you post here before, and it is here that I know you from, so it was quite a surprise to get an e-mail congratulating me for "exposing" you. But it looks like you've "exposed" yourself. Of your mentors, I know only Michael Cassidy, and I've known him for over 40 years and I think he's a good bloke.
Reflection on labels
It's interesting to me that whenever a "label" comes up, we have to shoot it down and that is why I am so concerned about "labels" which don't always come from the group themselves (e.g. Methodists), but those critics who need to disable the good things that God is doing through them. I see so much of Jesus stepping into our spaces today, uniting us together and building a conversation which is long overdue and I will put up with the "labels" just to ensure that in our lifetime we learnt to communicate once again. This site has got so quiet, but it still enthuses me to hear all your wonderful comments and on we must go to serve and to love, so I am in for any challenges and also in for some building of the body of Christ as long as we don't leave some bricks out along the way because we weren't building together.
